Court Appointed and Indigent Defense Cases
As important as law and order is to a civilized society, we must not forget that there are laws whereby the government is governed. The US Constitution and its Bill of Rights protect the people from an oppressive government.
There are times when the laws established by those documents are violated by the government. More often without malice. Nonetheless, we must diligently seek to uphold the Constitution and its Bill of Rights to maintain our American way of life. We do not seek to oppose our brothers and sisters in the law enforcement community, however, we do seek to uphold the Constitution. Unfortunately, sometimes that puts us at odds. We choose to stand for justice. Justice does not always favor the State. Justice, by whatever form it takes, should always be for The People. We work with criminal defense attorneys to ensure all leads have been pursued and all evidence obtained so that the American Justice System maintains the standard of "innocent until proven guilty". Court appointed cases are accepted at the approved rate. All other rates are based upon the type and complexity of the case. |
Criminal Investigation & Consulting Most criminal investigations are handled by law enforcement. However, there are times when law enforcement resources are stretched thin, or you may not get the results you were hoping for. Our mentality is that we seek justice. Justice is not one-sided, and not always about a conviction for the government. There are often extenuating circumstances that can greatly impact every case. Sometimes justice is means searching for evidence that was overlooked or omitted so that the judge and jury can hear all of the facts.
We have experience in all sorts of criminal investigations ranging from murders and sexual assaults to undercover narcotics investigations. Human Trafficking From 2016 - 2018, Sheepdog International, LLC was contracted to investigate human trafficking cases under the North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission grant "Project No Rest". During that grant we investigated complaints of human trafficking, conducted surveillance, spoke with victims and witnesses, searched for runaway children, connected victims with services, and liaised with law enforcement. Sheepdog International, LLC partnered with the 30th Judicial District Domestic Violence - Sexual Assault Alliance to deliver human trafficking training throughout western North Carolina to many stakeholders and community organizations. Although that grant project has ended, we continue our work in combatting human trafficking.
