INITIAL 4 HOURS UNARMED GUARD FOR ARMED PRIVATE INVESTIGATORS & NEW SECURITY GUARDS - NC PPSB requires the initial (4) hours of the Unarmed Guard Course for Private Investigators who wish to be registered to carry a firearm. This is in addition to the 20 hour firearm course, and is only required to be taken one time. For Security Guards - The initial (4) hours must be completed within 20 days of guard being placed on duty.
NC PPSB UNARMED SECURITY GUARD COURSE - NC PPSB mandated Unarmed Guard Course - (16) hours. Must be completed prior to Firearms Qualification. Must be completed within 30 days of permanent hire. The initial (4) hours must be completed within 20 days of guard being placed on duty.

North Carolina Private Protective Services Board required training for Security Officers. This is a (2) day or (16) hour course which provides the basics for Security officers and allows for registration with PPSB.
Licensed Private Investigators who with to have the Armed Endorsement must attend the first (4) hours of this course in order to sit for the firearms course.
